We Act For Kids FOND’ACTIONS (WAFKF) is an NGP dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable children, in Bangladesh it concentrates its efforts on children living in slums, where 80% of the children are from Bihari (refugee) families. Beyond education, WAFKF also provides primary healthcare, hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition awareness to underserved communities. The organization promotes household waste management, personal hygiene, handwashing, and access to safe drinking water by educating the community. It also fosters recreational opportunities through sports for disadvantaged children and provides comprehensive sex education. Additionally, WAFKF supports entrepreneurships by developing social business models and ensuring sustainable income for underserved communities through a vocational training center. This center offers industrial sewing training, aligned with Bangladesh’s garment sector, which comprises over 3000 factories.
Over the past 12 years, WAFKF has led various projects in Bangladesh, particularly within slum areas, which has given the organization deep insights into the unique challenges faced by these communities. Environmental factors are critical in these areas, where 40% of the urban population lives in slums, hotspots for communicable diseases and unsanitary conditions. Let’s Do It World (LDIW) focuses on waste management as a means to tackle pollution- a crucial need within slum communities to improve household and environmental hygiene. LDIW and WAFKF share a commitment to building environmental resilience, aiming to positively impact millions of lives.
