This is to introduce you to Spid the Spider. Spid and his friends are our latest supporters of World CleanUp Day!
Spid is a lowly spider who loves to write songs, and wants to better himself, though he is prone to hilarious mishaps mostly of his own making. He is a role model for children to help them learn to read, grow, live sustainably and succeed in life.
He lives in Spider Webdon and in his latest adventure he is horrified to find litter has been thrown into his garden. But he soon realises that littering and rubbish aren’t just a problem for him – they’re a problem for the whole planet. So Spid decides to do something about it. But he needs an idea. A really good idea. And he needs one now …
As ever, Spid faces a number of setbacks but wins though in the end!
His latest adventure is called Spid the Spider Helps Save the Planet. It publishes on 11th September ahead of World CleanUp Day on 16th September. It runs to 72 pages and includes a free ‘litter-cycle’ poster. The book and poster will help children learn about the effects of the litter on the environment and also realise that they can and should do something about it!
The book also features two songs with QR codes that take readers to musical versions of the songs.
