Ursula von der Leyen is the Patron of World Cleanup Day 2021

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, will be the patron of this year's World Cleanup Day on September 18, 2021. “I am very proud to be the patron of World Cleanup Day. We need to change the way we treat our planet, be more mindful of its resources and preserve its biodiversity. Everyone and anyone can contribute to this,” said the President.


“In 2020, the world set a strong example with more than 11 million participants. The people stood up for a clean, healthy and waste-free world and took active part in creating change. We call out to the people in Europe to support the World Cleanup Day on September 18, 2021 with their commitment, " said Heidi Solba, President of  Let's Do It World.
